REGENERATIVE TREATMENTS

IRAP

IRAP, which stands for Interleukin-1 Receptor Antagonist Protein, is an anti-inflammatory treatment for joint disease in horses that works by counteracting the pro-inflammatory cascade triggered by the protein interleukin-1. Interleukin-1 (IL-1) is a pro-inflammatory protein that is found in increased quantities in unhealthy joints, such as those suffering from osteoarthritis. IL-1 is a potent chemical signal that activates many other harmful cytokines along the pathway of inflammation within the joint. Release of IL-1 and other pro-inflammatory cytokines leads to a downward spiral of inflammation and joint disease, resulting in cartilage damage and osteoarthritis. As tissue damage increases within the joint, additional IL-1 is produced, perpetuating the vicious cycle of inflammation and osteoarthritis.

IRAP works in the horse by blocking IL-1 from binding to its receptor inside the joint, thus stopping the cascade of inflammation triggered by IL-1, and slowing the progression of osteoarthritis.

Centrate

CENTRATE

CenTrate BMA is primarily used in helping manage moderate to severe chronic osteoarthritis and soft tissue injuries.1 It is also often used after surgery to facilitate recovery. With a 15-minute process, the concentrated bone marrow aspirate can be introduced to the injury site where the cells provide the key initiation of the healing process based on the environment they’re placed in.

CenTrate is a steroid-free alternative, like our other regenerative medicine therapy devices. It uses equine bone marrow stem cells already in your horse’s body to help the healing begin.

RENOVO

renovo

RenoVō® is a relatively new advancement in Regenerative Medicine. It provides an alternative Allogeneic treatment option, meaning the Regenerative Medicine originates from donor tissue rather than from the horse’s own body. The product is derived from equine amniotic birth tissues, which are rich in bioactive factors essential in tissue healing and regeneration because they contain anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, epithelialization and anti-fibrotic properties. The donors are healthy mares and the tissues are collected without harm to the mare or foal.

  • Soft tissue injuries including tendons and ligaments

  • Joint Disease

  • Non-Healing Wounds

  • Corneal Ulcers

RenoVo is an amniotic tissue allograft comprised of cytokines, growth factors and extracellular matrix proteins that are naturally found in amniotic tissues. This product can be used in soft tissue injuries that have been unresponsive to initial treatment. Examples of injuries for RenoVo injection would include deep digital flexor tendonitis and chronic suspensory branch desmitis.

PROSTRIDE

Pro-Stride® APS is a device that creates a solution to manage equine lameness and arthritis in horses by concentrating the healing properties from a horse’s own blood to help reduce pain and inflammation. The less than 20-minute process uses the horse’s own blood to create a concentrated solution that amplifies the healing process when injected into the injured area. Pro-Stride can serve as a natural alternative to conventional osteoarthritis management options. The resulting concentrated solution of cells, platelets, growth factors and anti-inflammatory cytokines helps relieve pain, and restore the balance of inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines within the joint.

PRP

Restigen® PRP is a platelet isolation device that creates a concentrated platelet-rich plasma (PRP) solution from a horse’s own blood. A convenient device within our family of regenerative medicine therapies, Restigen PRP is used effectively by veterinarians to help manage soft tissue injuries, such as a bowed tendon, and ligament lesions that can cause equine lameness. Like our other regenerative medicine therapy devices, Restigen is a steroid-free alternative. Horse PRP provides anti-inflammatory cytokines, which play a significant role in the healing, repair, and regeneration of soft and hard tissue including tendons, ligaments, muscles and bones.
